Joel is a 26-year-old slacker and Tom’s best friend. He gives Tom a lot of shit but he does it because they’re best friends. Sometimes Joel’s antics go overboard because Tom is a complete doormat, but it is not done out of malice. At the end of the day Joel has Tom’s back and his best interests at heart. Joel does the bare minimum at work to ensure Mike doesn’t fire him. He spends a lot of time at work smoking and reading celebrity gossip magazines.
